Last Friday around 4pm, the homeless at MVCH Campus got a special treat. Luchador Food Truck came with KGRT 104 radio, and served up some really delicious red enchiladas rice and beans and a salad, while we all listened to good country music. This event was organized by Casa De Peregrinos Food Bank Exec Dir Lorenzo Alba Jr. and was in conjunction with a Thanksgiving food drive for the poor and needy in this financially challenging season.
Lorenzo also mentioned that the Luchador truck would start coming once a month to cook a hot meal for the homeless at MVCH, and that each time it will be a different kind of cuisine. “I think next month we’ll ask them to do some Italian, maybe some pasta…..”, Lorenzo grinned, watching the growing group of homeless waiting to eat.
THANKS TO LORENZO AND CASA DE PEREGRINOS, AND LUCHADOR FOR NOURISHING OUR HOMELESS WITH SUCH GREAT FOOD AND STARTING OUR HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SUCH CHEER!
