2nd Annual Thanksgiving of Hope

This past Saturday, Nov 9, 2013, was MVCH’s second annual Thanksgiving of Hope open house fundraiser. We had a great turnout, saw some new faces, and everyone seemed impressed and grateful for the work we are doing here. Our office staff gave tours of the agency and then handed our guests off to camp residents to walk them around the camp and answer any questions they had. It was interactive, informal, and fun, and I have heard that our homeless really enjoyed talking with our supporters and sharing their input about their own community here. We had snacks and beverages, and live music performed by the Rio Grande Ramblers, with whom our own Exec Dir Nicole Martinez sat in with and played and sang a couple songs. And Randy Harris even held a Great Conversation for those visiting so they could grasp how we organized ourselves and got the camp program to the place it is now.

All in all it was a great afternoon, and we are very thankful to the Board Members of MVCH, all our staff and volunteers, and all the community support that came out to learn about our agency and donate. It is that amazing support that comes from the greater Las Cruces community that keeps our agency going and growing, and Las Cruces should be proud that their efforts make a difference.

THANK YOU ALL!
