Recently, a former client of MVCH and well known and much beloved member of the homeless community, Terrence Havey, passed away as a result of injuries he sustained after being hit on his bike by a truck on Valley Rd.. At the suggestion of City Councilman Silva, we held a memorial for him in our resource room. About two dozen people attended, led by Executive Director Nicole Martinez, and each person in the room had a chance to speak about how they knew Terry and how he impacted their lives. It was very special to hear these stories and listen to how beloved Terry was for his many talents and his undeniable determinatioin. Despite the tragedy of losing someone so special this way, the overwhleming consensus in the room was that we all must live on and take more time to get to know the people that touch our hearts like Terry did for so many in his life. Thank you to all who attended and spoke about Terry and how he made a difference in your lives.
