So I asked MVCH Executive Director Nicole Martinez why our agency needed a new vehicle, preferably a truck, and here’s what she said.
” Our van is 18 years old! AC is out, driver window doesn’t work, side door and back door are broken…
We use the van to transport clients, including Veterans, to medical appointments. We transport homeless clients when we help them move into their own apartments.
We also use the van to transport donated items for the homeless that are moving into housing. Lastly, we use the van to perform monthly home visits for over 60 clients in housing programs.
We need reliable transportation for our clients and for the important work we do.”
Having a truck will also be useful for all the upcoming rezoning projects for the Camp Hope program. Since we cannot afford to just buy a truck we are asking our community supporters for help. One of our Board members has offered to match the funds for the truck pictured above. Or if anyone can donate a vehicle that would be fantastic too.
